My review

★★★★★ (5/5)

I found this book in one of the accommodations I stayed at during my trip in Southeast Asia, in Chiang Mai. I had already seen it all over bookstagram some time ago, so I had a feeling it was going to be good.

I don’t usually read a lot of thrillers, but this one really surprised me.

The story follows Alicia Berenson, a woman who seems to have a perfect life until one night she shoots her husband and then… stops speaking completely. From that moment on, she refuses to say a single word. The book then follows Theo, a psychotherapist who becomes obsessed with uncovering the truth behind what really happened.

It’s a mix of thriller, mystery, and psychological fiction, and honestly… it was so good. The writing, the pacing, the way the story slowly unfolds. Everything just worked. It keeps you questioning things all the time, trying to understand what’s real and what’s not.

I love books with a strong plot twist, and this is a perfect example of that. I didn’t fully see it coming, and once everything is revealed, it makes you rethink the whole story.

After finishing it, I kept thinking about it, which for me always means something.

Definitely the best thriller I’ve read in 2025.

If you haven’t read it yet, I really recommend it.
