This book picks up right after that wild ending in Iron Flame. War is here, secrets are out, and Violet and Xaden are in deeper than ever.

So much happens in this book! New characters, new cities, new names… honestly, sometimes I felt a little lost trying to keep up with it all.

But let’s talk about what I loved:
- Getting more backstory on Xaden’s family
- Ridoc’s loyalty and his sweet bond with his dragon Aotrom (he’s so much more than just the funny friend!)
- Exploring new lands
- Finally hearing Andarna speak more (I’ve been waiting for this since book 1)
- All the dragon lore and history

And that ending?! WHAT. I have no words… Rebecca Yarros knows how to leave us screaming. I’m still fully obsessed with this world and already need the next book!
