My review
★★★★★ (5/5)
This was my first book by Dan Brown, and now I completely understand the hype.
The story explores the idea of non-local consciousness, all set in Prague, which made it even more interesting. I loved how the setting was woven into the story. It felt like you were discovering the city at the same time as the characters.
The characters were really well done. They all felt real, with their own personalities, motivations, and complexities, which made everything feel more immersive.
What I loved the most about this book is how much it made me think. It mixes science, philosophy, and mystery in a way that keeps you constantly questioning what is real and what could be possible. You can really feel the amount of research behind it, and it adds so much depth to the story.
At the same time, it’s incredibly fast-paced. There’s always something happening, always a new piece of information, a new twist, a new direction. I was completely hooked the whole time.
My only “but” is the length. It’s around 700 pages (and 139 chapters!) covering just two days in the story, which can feel a bit intense at times.
But honestly, even with that, I loved it. It’s one of those books that pulls you in and doesn’t let go.
