My review

★★★☆☆ (3/5)

Blue Sisters follows three sisters, Avery, Bonnie, and Lucky, who reunite after the death of their fourth sister, Nicky. Each is struggling in her own way with grief, addiction, and identity, and the book shifts between their POVs as they confront past wounds and try to move forward.

I really wanted to love this book, especially since it explores heavy themes like sisterhood, grief, and addiction in a raw way. It started strong and ended on a better note, but unfortunately, the middle lost me.

I didn't connect with any of the characters, which surprised me since we get chapters from each sister's POV. Some parts felt slow, even boring, and others came across as awkward or cringe, like the way race was occasionally mentioned. There were also some plot choices, like cheating, that I personally don't enjoy reading about.

While I appreciate what the author was trying to do, this one sadly didn't fully work for me. It's still a meaningful story, but it wasn't a favorite.
