My review
★★★★☆ (4/5)
The story follows Lily Bloom as she navigates her life, career, and romantic relationships. What begins as a seemingly passionate love story gradually reveals deeper and more complicated dynamics, forcing Lily to confront painful truths about love, boundaries, and personal strength.
This book has received a lot of attention and controversy, especially after the release of the film adaptation It Ends with Us. Despite the discussions surrounding it, I personally liked the book. I think it addresses important topics such as abusive relationships and the difficulty of breaking harmful cycles.
One aspect I found particularly interesting is how the story shows that when we are in love, it can sometimes be difficult to see situations clearly. Emotions can make us interpret behaviors differently from what they truly are, which is something the novel portrays in a very human way.
I also appreciated the development of the main character. Lily shows a lot of strength throughout the story, especially when faced with difficult decisions. Her journey highlights how challenging it can be to break patterns and make choices that protect your future.
While some parts of the story felt a bit predictable, it was still an emotional read. The ending, in particular, was quite touching and even made me tear up a little.
It is an emotional and thought-provoking novel about love, resilience, and the courage it sometimes takes to end cycles that should not continue.
